In case you forgot, Barbara Boxer is a senator.
The feisty California lawmaker felt the need to remind an Army brigadier general of that fact Tuesday during a hearing before her Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, where the military officer testifying had the apparent gall to call Boxer "ma'am."
Brig. Gen. Michael Walsh, with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, was testifying on the Louisiana coastal restoration process in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. He began to answer one of Boxer's questions with "ma'am" when Boxer immediately cut him off.
"You know, do me a favor," an irritated Boxer said. "Could say 'senator' instead of 'ma'am?'"
"Yes, ma'am," Walsh interjected.
"It's just a thing, I worked so hard to get that title, so I'd appreciate it, yes, thank you," she said.
"Yes, senator," he responded.
Well now, it would seem as if the senator is, in true democrat form, forgetting herself and her place entirely. I would hardly dare to compare the effort needed to ascend to the rank of general in the United States Army to that of the con job needed to gain the rank of senator in California. G-d knows how easy it was for a crook Marxist to atain the title of Commander and Chief. This pig Boxer wouldn't know the first thing about service to her country. It is truly devastating to see the depths that the American politician has stooped to with regards to how they treat the American serviceman and woman. The uniform of the service is and should always be the most sacred manifestation of honor and pride in one's country. From the earliest days of the United States, the men and women of the service have suffered horribly for the sake of charlatans like this cretin Boxer. In greater times, this sort of insult was met with decisive and resolute force. How dare she mock his obvious respect with such disdain and insolence!
With al due respect to this fraud, I say that it takes much more to climb the ranks of the finest military in the world than it does to make promises of welfare payments to minorities in order to attain a dishonest office. You ma'am, are a fraud, a charlatan, and a disgrace to the American people. Jealousy is found in abundance in your ilk but it burns to know that it will never replace the true fiber that builds generals. Unfortunately for you this is the United States; the best of the best rise to the top, the rest drown in their wake.
